An existing partition requires all pertinent information returned upon restoration. ![]() That's about the extent of the damage (not too bad). Hasleo has acknowledged this anomaly (didn't say what they will do) and hopefully they will fix it accordingly. otherwise any existing app that is partition-based (most imaging apps and even Windows itself) will think it's a brand new partition and react accordingly. ![]() Since almost all imaging software identifies the partitions they are working with using that same information above, most of that software will fail when trying to use it after a Hasleo "Disk Mode" restore operation (Macrium REFLECT can't find any of the partitions it needs for its Definition files). This will include any partition not part of the Windows BOOT set (EFI, MSR, OS & Recovery). Windows considers all new partitions (not seen before) to be letter assigned to the next available disk letter. ![]() This is not a good thing as discussed below. During restoration of "Disk Mode" images, all partitions in the image are returned to the disk with new Serial #s and new Partition IDs, correctly mapped to their original LBA locations. "System Backup" restorations not affected since December (when a similar problem was discovered).ģ. the problem has been around since the beginning when using "Disk/Partition Mode" images.Ģ. It matters not whether the images are v3.4 or v3.2 generated. OK, the forensics have been completed on Post #327 above and the results are. ![]()
